MEVORIDE 2MG TABLET

Composition (per tablet):

• Glimepiride 2 mg
• Metformin 500 mg
• Voglibose 0.3 mg

Uses

• Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• Helps control both fasting blood sugar and post-meal blood sugar spikes
• Usually prescribed when diet, exercise, or fewer diabetes medicines are not enough.

How it works

• Glimepiride: Increases insulin release from the pancreas.
• Metformin: Reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.
• Voglibose: Slows carbohydrate digestion, reducing the rise in blood sugar after meals.

How to take

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Usually taken before meals (often before the first main meal) to help control post-meal blood sugar.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Common side effects

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Stomach pain
• Loss of appetite
• Gas/bloating

Important precautions

• Do not skip meals, as this increases the risk of hypoglycemia.
• Avoid alcohol, which can increase the risk of low blood sugar and lactic acidosis.
• Monitor blood glucose regularly.
• Use with caution or avoid in severe kidney or liver disease, as advised by a doctor.
