Among others, ranitidine sold under the brand name Zantac. Ranitidine belongs to a group of drugs called histamine 2 blockers. It works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.

Reflux means acid and food in the stomach return to the esophagus. GERD can cause other health problems over time, in which case it will not be treated. ) and other conditions in which acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus and causes heartburn.

Take Ranitidine exactly as directed on the label or as directed by your doctor.
Carefully weigh the liquid. Use the included syringe or dosimeter (not a kitchen spoon). It may take up to 8 weeks for the ulcer to heal.
