Methylprednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid (glucocorticoids are a class of corticosteroid hormones that are highly effective in reducing inflammation and suppressing the immune system). It is primarily prescribed for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects.

Uses:

Methylprednisolone is effective in a variety of inflammatory conditions such as:

  • arthritis
  • lupus
  • psoriasi,
  • ulcerative colitis
  • allergic disorders
  • glandular (endocrine)
  • disorders
  • conditions affecting the skin, eyes, lungs, stomach, nervous system, or blood cells

Dosage:

Methylprednisolone is available as an oral tablet. Your doctor will prescribe the best medication regimen for you.
