  • Alstonia Scholaris, commonly known in English as table tree, scholar tree, milkwood or devil tree, is a tropical evergreen tree of the canine family (Apocynaceae). It is native to southern China, tropical Asia (mainly the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia), and Australasia, and is a common ornamental plant. Although it is a poisonous plant, it has been traditionally used for countless ailments.
  • It is used for abdominal pain, fever, respiratory disease, skin disease, etc. This drug is very popular in traditional medicine against malaria fever. Branches of the Alstonia Scholaris tree are used in toothpaste for their antiseptic properties.
