- Indrayan vines are also found in central, southern and northwestern India, Arabia, West Asia, the highlands of Africa and Mediterranean countries. The leaves are similar to those of a watermelon, with male and female flowers, and the fruits are orange-like and 2 to 3 inches in diameter.
- In Ayurveda, it is said to relieve colds, laxatives, gastric mucosa, bile, stomach, cough, leprosy, and fever.It is said to be particularly beneficial in ascites, jaundice, and related ailments.
