How to use menstrual cup? Is it safe and hygienic?

Menstrual cups are safe and hygienic to use. They are a reusable, bell-shaped menstrual product that is worn inside the vagina during your period to catch and collect menstrual fluid. They are made from medical-grade silicone, rubber, or latex, and can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time, depending on your flow.

To use a menstrual cup, follow these steps:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the cup.
  2. Fold the cup in half, either lengthwise or in a "C" shape, to make it smaller and easier to insert.
  3. Hold the folded cup with the stem facing down and the rim facing up.
  4. Find a comfortable position, such as standing with one foot on the toilet or squatting.
  5. Gently separate the labia with your free hand and push the cup into the vagina, aiming it towards the base of the spine.
  6. Hold the stem of the cup and twist it to ensure that it has fully opened and is securely in place.
  7. To remove the cup, wash your hands and find a comfortable position. Gently pull the stem of the cup until you can reach the base. Pinch the base to release the suction and gently pull the cup out.
  8. Empty the contents of the cup into the toilet, rinse it with water, and reinsert it.

It is important to clean your menstrual cup thoroughly before and after each use. You can do this by boiling it in water for 5-10 minutes, or by using a specifically formulated menstrual cup cleanser.
