Uses :
Liraglutide under the brand name Victoza is used in adults and kids with type 2 diabetes ( condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood ). mellitus who are at least 10 years old, together with diet and exercise, to better regulate blood sugar levels.
Victoza is also used to help persons with type 2 diabetes and heart disease lower their chance of developing significant heart issues like a heart attack or stroke. Victoza should not be used to treat type 1 diabetes.

Dosage:
Liraglutide injection comes as a solution in a pre-filled pen for subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. In general, inject this medicine once a day with or without food. Use your liraglutide injection at approximately the same time each day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to clarify any areas you do not understand. Use liraglutide injection as directed. Do not use more or less, or use more often than directed by your doctor.
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:
- hypoglycemia
- nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, loss of appetite
- diarrhea
- constipation
- rash
- headache, dizziness
- Tired
Some side effects can be serious:
- fainting or feeling dizzy
- new or worsening depression
- have thoughts of hurting or killing yourself
- Abnormal mood or behavioral changes
- vomit
- nausea
