Mirabegron sold under trade names such as Myrbetriq. It relaxes the bladder muscles to prevent urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination.
Uses:
Mirabegron is used to treat overactive bladder with symptoms of frequent or urgent urination and urinary incontinence in adults. Mirabegron may be used with another drug called solifenacin/vesicare ( a prescription drug used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder ).
Mirabegron is used to treat neurodetrusor overactivity (NDO) in children. NDO is a type of bladder dysfunction that occurs when the spinal cord and bladder cannot communicate effectively. Urinary incontinence due to NDO is associated with permanent neurological damage from conditions such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury.
Mirabegron tablets can be used from the age of 3 years. Mirabegron Granules is intended for children over the age of 3 and weighing over 35 kg (77 lbs).

Dosage:
Mirabegron is available as extended-release (long-acting) tablets and as a sustained-release oral suspension. Tablets are usually taken once daily for adults with or without food, and for children once daily with food. The suspension is usually taken once daily with food. Take mirabegron at approximately the same time each day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to clarify any areas you do not understand. Take mirabegron exactly as directed. Do not take more or less or more often than directed by your doctor
Side Effects:
Some common side efffects are:
- headache
- dizzy
- dry mouth
- constipation
- back pain
- joint pain
Some side effects can be serious:
- Severe stomach pain
- constipation lasting more than 3 days
- pain or burning when urinating
- headache
- confusion
- drowsiness
- hallucinations
- blurred vision
- sore eyes
- seeing halos around lights
