Olanzapine is sold under the brand name Zyprexa among others. Olanzapine belongs to a class of drugs called atypical antipsychotics. It works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.
Uses:
Olanzapine is also used with fluoxetine ( Fluoxetine is an antidepressant that selectively inhibits serotonin reuptake. Dosage:
Olanzapine is available in tablets and orally disintegrating tablets (tablets that dissolve quickly in the mouth). In general, take this medicine once a day with or without food. Take olanzapine at approximately the same time each day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to clarify any areas you do not understand. Take olanzapine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less, or more often than directed by your doctor.
