Rizatriptan belongs to a class of drugs called selective serotonin receptor agonists. It constricts blood vessels in the brain, prevents pain signals from being sent to the brain, and blocks the release of certain natural substances that cause headache pain, nausea, and other migraine symptoms.
Uses:
Rizatriptan is used to treat migraines. Rizatriptan only treats headaches that have already started. It does not prevent headaches or reduce the number of attacks.

Dosage:
Rizatriptan is available as tablets and orally disintegrating tablets to be taken by mouth. It is usually taken at the first sign of migraine.
