Dosage:
Lisdexamfetamine is available as oral capsules and chewable tablets. In general, take this medicine once a day in the morning, with or without food. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to clarify any areas you do not understand. Take lisdexamfetamine exactly as directed.
Chewable tablets should be chewed thoroughly before swallowing.

Side Effects:
Common side effects of lisdexamphetamine include loss of appetite, anxiety, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, nervousness, and nausea. Rare but serious side effects include mania, sudden cardiac death in patients with underlying heart problems, and psychosis. According to the DEA, there is a high potential for substance abuse.
