Anticoagulant medication Apixaban, also known as Eliquis, is available for purchase. Apixaban belongs to the class of drugs known as factor Xa inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the activity of a particular natural substance that aids in the formation of blood clots.
Uses:
Atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm disorder, is treated with the blood thinner apixaban to lower the risk of stroke brought on by a blood clot.
Additionally, after hip or knee replacement surgery, Apixaban is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot that can cause pulmonary embolism.
In addition, Apixaban is used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) and to lower your risk of recurring DVT and PE.
Dosage:
Crush the tablet and mix it with water, apple juice, or applesauce if you are unable to swallow it whole. Immediately consume the mixture without chewing.
A nasogastric (NG) feeding tube can also be used to administer a crushed tablet mixture. Make sure to carefully read and adhere to any instructions for use that came with your medication.
Even from a minor injury, Apixaban can make it easier for you to bleed. If your bleeding won't stop, you should go to the doctor.
