Methylphenidate, sold under brand names such as Ritalin and Concerta, is the most commonly prescribed central nervous system "CNS." A stimulant drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and, to a lesser extent, narcolepsy. It is the main treatment for ADHD. Methylphenidate is a central nervous system stimulant. It affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control.It can be taken orally or applied to the skin, and depending on the formulation, the duration of action varies, usually it is 2 to 4 hours. 

Uses:

Methylphenidate is included in treatment programs to control symptoms of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD; difficulty concentrating, controlling behavior, staying still, or staying still) in adults and children. used as part of Methylphenidate (methyline) is also used to treat narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that causes excessive daytime sleepiness and sudden attacks of sleep.

Dosage:

Ordinary tablets, chewable tablets (methyline), and solution (methyline) are usually taken 2-3 times a day for adults and 2 times a day for children, preferably 35-40 minutes before meals. Adults taking 3 doses should take their last dose by 6:00.
At 12:00 am the medication should not cause problems falling asleep or sleeping through the night. Medium tablets are usually taken once or twice a day in the morning, sometimes in the early afternoon, 30-45 minutes before meals. Long-acting capsules (Metadate CD) are usually taken by him once daily before breakfast. Long-acting tablets (Concerta), long-acting chewable tablets (Quillichew ER), long-acting suspensions (Quillivant XR), and long-acting capsules (Aptensio XR, Ritalin LA) are usually taken in the morning. Take once daily. Or no food. Long-acting suspension (Quillivant XR) works faster when taken with food. Long-acting orally disintegrating tablets (Cotempla XR-ODT) and long-acting capsules (Adhansia XR) are usually taken once daily in the morning, always with or always without food consistently. must be taken. Long-acting capsules (Jornay PM) are usually taken once daily in the evening (between 6am).

Side Effects:

Common side effects of methylphenidate include:
Tachycardia, palpitations, headache, insomnia, anxiety, hyperhidrosis, weight loss, decreased appetite, dry mouth, nausea, abdominal pain. 

Withdrawal symptoms include:
Chills, depression, drowsiness, malaise, fatigue, headache, irritability, lethargy, nightmares, restlessness, suicidal ideation, weakness.
