Maduka- Maduka longifolia (Koen) is an Indian tropical tree found mainly in the plains and forests of central, southern and northern India, Nepal, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. It is popularly known as Madhuka, Madukam, Mahwa, Butter Tree, Mahua, Mahwa, Mohlo, Illuppai, or Vipa Chettu. It is about 20 meters tall, has evergreen or semi-evergreen leaves, and is a fast-growing tree belonging to the Sapotaceae family.
Maduka is used in many Ayurvedic medicines as a fermentation initiator. In Ayurveda, it is described for the treatment of skin diseases, neurological disorders, coughs, burning sensations, and diarrhea.
